Dear Danielle & Tim,

Last week we finished what has become an annual visit to Maine to escape the heat, humidity and bad ozone of southern Indiana. Part of our enjoyable experience there has been our stays at the Quimby House Inn. When we left Thursday there was a discrepency on the bill and what had been written in the confirmation letter. Danielle quickly said "We have to honor it." We have thought about this and believe the fairest thing to do is split the difference.

We recognize and appreciate your new venture with the Inn and look forward to returning next year.

Sincerely,

-Jennifer and Bob

The Fire Of 1947

Prior to 1947 if you were traveling to Bar Harbor you would likely have driven down Millionaires’ Row on your way into town. A stunning view of grand estates that were seasonal homes and summer cottages along Frenchman Bay were a common sight. Mount Desert Island, home to Bar Harbor, was known as the summer retreat for the wealthy. Historic hotels along with the estates kept the town of Bar Harbor and surrounding towns on Mount Desert Island a place for the rich and famous. But on October 17, 1947 everything changed.

First Snowflakes In Bar Harbor Bring About That Holiday Feeling

Every season in Bar Harbor is magical. But Bar Harbor in the winter is amazing. It’s so quiet, and the locals feel like they’ve finally got their little treasure back to themselves. Summer visitors have mostly gone back to their home states and Bar Harbor has lost that exciting summery feel. Instead it has a wonderful holiday feeling in the air; you can buy Christmas trees along the main street from the local boy scout troop, Santa will be arriving at the Village Green any day now to greet all the town children, and holiday shopping is in full swing in the dozen local shops that are still open. Give us a call today to reserve your room this holiday season and we can help you relax and enjoy the holiday season the way you can only in a small town on the coast of Maine.

Bar Harbor Weather: If You Don’t Like It, Wait A Minute.

I love the weather in this town! And this summer has been no exception- we’ve had more sun than rain, more warm air than cool, and even though it’s humid a lot of the time, it’s nothing like the depressing humidity found in the South this time of year! The warm summer Bar Harbor weather is what the locals look forward to most in Bar Harbor, and this summer has not disappointed!
